Note: these instructions compatible with Mail.app for Panther (10.3) and Tiger (10.4).
Select Mail -> Preferences
Select the Accounts icon
If you have an existing sus4.net account that you are changing, select the account in the Accounts column and double check the following settings.
For a new account, press the + at the bottom of the Accounts column. answer the questions:
o Description (Whatever you choose)
o The email address given to you by Sus4
o Your Name (ex. Jane Doe)
o Incoming mail server is a POP 3
o Incoming mail server: mail.sus4.net
o User Name: your email address (ex. janedoe@example.com)
o Password
You’re not quite ready to check mail yet. Back at the Accounts window, select Add Server from the Outoing Mail Server (SMTP) pulldown.
Set Outgoing Mail Server to: mail.sus4.net.
Set Server Port to 587.
Check Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).
On Authentication, Select Password.
User Name: your email address (ex. janedoe@example.com)
Password
Then click OK.
Click on the Advanced tab.
Near the bottom of the window, click the box next to Use SSL. This should change the port number to 995.
Change Authentication: to Password.
Finally! Click the red “close window” button and click Save to apply your settings.
